#16: My experience buying a new construction home (the challenges)

Building and buying a new construction home is tough and NOT not for the weak. I ran into many challenges throughout the journey, which was stressful and almost led me to pull out of the contract multiple times. It requires a new level of patience that you may have never had to exercise…and if you’re anything like me, that doesn’t come easy. 


In my last video (https://youtu.be/ccK3meL5UZw), I highlighted 4 reasons why I recommend going the new construction home route. But in this video, I’m going to give you the challenges - which range from the timelines changing all of the time to lots of miscommunication between the building team. If it wasn’t for my agent, I would have definitely gone OFF on a few of the team members because they did NOT handle us well. But God gave me grace, and he gave me Ashley (my real estate agent) who has a much better poker face than I do haha.


The thing is when it comes to a new construction home - you have to consider many things. Materials, selecting the right builder, weather (which can impact the foundation), changes in staff, and so much more. But on the bright side, you learn through this process so that if you decide to embark on the new construction home route again, which I will, you can confidently call the building team out on timelines, preferred processes, etc.
