#18: 4 Shifts I Made Before Buying My First Home
When I was buying my first home, I felt prepared because I had done my research to prepare - but I also had to shift my mindset. And it was a big reality check.
Buying your first home is just that. Your first home. It likely will not be your last and I hope that brings peace and a little more flexibility to what you ultimately say yes to.
When I was going through my first time home buying journey, I had way too many people in my ear telling me to “buy in a good school district” or to “make sure the guest room is downstairs”. This ultimately led me to stop talking about it so I can silence my thoughts and get clear on what I needed. Not what my family needed. It was about me, my lifestyle, my budget, and my needs.
And in the end, I bought the first home of my dreams and they all love it! So I want to talk about 4-5 blockers that I hope you consider avoiding so that you can maneuver through this first time homebuying journey with ease and as stress-free as possible. Let's get into it!
