Do you have stable employment?
The reality is that you can't make passive income (i.e. money you don't have to work for) without active income. While I won't discourage you from joining, it might not be a good priority right now with job insecurity.
One the flip side, it was during my former layoff that I got serious about financial freedom. It fueled me for when I was able to secure employment. Ultimately, you know you and where you are mentally right now. We can chat on a 1:1 call more if needed.
Do you have atleast 3 months of savings set aside?
With everything happening in this country, the last thing I want you to do is invest money that you need to live on now.
Get your financial house in order first. That could be saving 3 months of expenses (atleast), or it could be paying down some debt that has a high interest rate (like anything over 7%).
Doing so will help you inveest with a peace of mind. Because the market fluctuates and you will have to remove the emotion out of your decision making.
Do you need money back/returns immediately?
The type of stock market investing I plan to teach is a long game. It's for the future: retirement, children's education, funding future big purchases, etc.
If you don't plan to leave the money alone for ATLEAST 5 years, you might want to consider high-yield savings accounts or certificate of deposits to earn some money more quickly. DM me on Instagram (@maximized.money) if you have questions on that.
Do you want to become a trader or invest in real estate?
Neither of those will be discussed in the InvestHer Lounge. I only speak/educate on things I have experience in and though I am a real estate investor, I do not teach around it.
That might come later though, with a partner I trust. TBD on that.
Do you have 1-2 hours each week to commit to showing up, learning and executing?
I am extremely intentional about this space and providing women with a community to connect, learn and grow through execution.
It requires showing up, doing the work, asking the "dumb" questions and actually being apart of The InvestHer Lounge.
The last thing I'd want to do is have a community of inactive women. The goal is to have every single woman get what they need. So do your part and i'll do mine, :-)
Do you have to be a certain age?
Nope. Most of my clients have been in their mid-20s to mid 40s. So millennials and gen-z, I guess. But no ageism over here! Come get the gems.

Okay, but who are you though and what makes you qualified?
Hey, I’m Joshlyn, and I am a Certified Financial Educator and Self-Taught Investor who has generated over $500 in monthly passive income and paid off over $80,000 in student loan debt. I have my wins, but nothing excites me more than seeing women who look like me get to their bag (with ease) and live their best life!
I’ve helped over 100 women jumpstart their investing journey and supported over 250 women in purchasing their first homes. I’ve also partnered with companies such as Fundrise, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, and Chase Bank, just to name a few.
But this wasn’t always my story. Statistics show that 73% of millennials are living paycheck to paycheck, and I was a part of that number for a long time. It was a combination of experiences – such as being laid off unexpectedly, quitting a toxic job with no real income plan, and struggling to purchase my first home – that taught me the importance of financial independence. Statistics also show that women earn 83 cents for every dollar earned by white men, and I envision a world where women never have to be at the mercy of an employer (or a limited salary) ever again.
Today, as the founder of Maximized Money, I am normalizing a world where women have options and freedom.
Freedom to be wherever and do whatever by using the income they earn now to
invest it strategically and create the life they’ve always desired.
